Churchill Manitoba October 17, 18 2018

Churchill is located on the Polar bear’s natural migration path.  They wait along the Hudson Bay shores for the ice to freeze over so they can hunt seals, their meal of choice.  It’s not uncommon to see polar bears in the community and there are various Royal Canadian Police with rifles that patrol the area.  The people of Churchill have learned to co-exist with the bears and have had success in doing it to a degree not found anywhere else in the world.

We spent 2 full days (8 am – 4 pm) on Tundra Buggies that took us out to where most of the bears can be found.  There is nothing quite like seeing polar bears in their natural habitat, and Churchill, Canada—known as the "polar bear capital of the world"—is an ideal location to see them.  We even got to see a mother bear with her two cubs though she was sighted at quite a distance from our buggy.  Our trip to see the bears was nothing short of magical.  I have dedicated this blog entry to just the pictures of these magnificent creatures. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
