Churches of Prince Edward Island 6/19-29/2015

Because the churches on Prince Edward Island (PEI) were many, historical and beautiful, we felt they needed their own blog entry.  We were fortunate to go into a few of  these beautiful treasures.

St. Dunstan's Basilica was one of the churches we were fortunate to view inside.  While there, we so enjoyed the organist that was playing.  Like WOW!  How the organ sounds bellowed in this beautiful church.  We could sit there for hours listening to the organ as it made the walls shake.  So hard to explain yet so absolutely fulfilling.   Also unique at the basilica is Mary with a baby bump....like a first for us to see.

The next church that we actually toured the inside of was St. Paul's Anglican in Charlottetown.  St. Paul's  Wow, the acoustics and ceiling in this church are incredible.  It is one of the more memorable churches we have visited.  The pastor there was kind, friendly and having lived on the island for 40 years, he was very interesting to talk with..

The other church that we toured the inside of was St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in South Rustico.St. Augustines  It is the oldest Catholic Church in the diocese of Charlottetown.  It was the church of Father Belcourt, the founder of the Farmer's Bank of Rustico.
